Vocalize was formed in January 2010 out of 15 students that had been involved in regular studio sessions at school. The aim was to try to progress to the Music For Youth School Prom at the Royal Albert Hall in November later that year, which was an ambitious target as it’s the premier national youth music event in the UK. Vocalize made it through to the National finals in Birmingham, won the performance of the day, an award for the best original song and achieved their goal of singing at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2010. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength and has carved a unique place nationally as choir. Having rappers and a great live band has helped Vocalize to stand out when performing around the country and recently Paul Munday, who’s in charge of education projects at the RAH, said they are the best youth choir he has ever seen.

There have been many highlights over the last 10 years with performances at the RAH school prom x 3, RAH primary prom x3, RFH x 3, Buckingham Palace, Wembley Stadium and many more. Vocalize have taken part in workshops with Emeli Sande and vocal group Naturally 7 also at the RAH and have appeared on the ITV news and London Live. In 2014 the choir were asked by the RAH to arrange a Coldplay song xmas song for their video Xmas Card that went out to millions of people worldwide.
